Disney+ Parental Controls
Disney is known as being one of the most kid-friendly franchises out there, and most of its content is very family-friendly. However, there are still some titles that may not be suitable for very young children. Disney has provided some parental controls to help parents keep their kids safe while using Disney+.
First, create an account for your child. When logged in on a device, go to Edit Profiles → click Add Profile → Select an image for the profile picture → Enter the name of your child’s profile.
Recently, Disney+ updated its parental controls prompting users to content ratings for each profile, add PIN locks for profiles, and enable Kid-Proof Exit question for Kid Profiles.
Content Restrictions
Disney is known as being one of the most kid-friendly franchises out there, with its content is being family-friendly. However, some titles on the platform are not suitable for young children. The parental controls on Disney+ help parents prevent their kids from viewing non-age-appropriate content.
First, create an account for your child. When logged in on a device, go to Edit Profiles → click Add Profile → Select an image for the profile picture → Enter the name of your child’s profile.
Create A Kids Profile
Disney has made it easy for parents to restrict certain shows and movies on its streaming video service. One such way is enabling them to create kid profiles. To do so, select Edit Profiles and tap the specific profile. Press the toggle button next to Kids Profile. This will cause them only to be able to view kid-friendly content on the platform. To prevent children from exiting their profiles, the platform provides the feature ‘Kid-Proof Exit’, in which the child must complete a challenge.
Profile Content Ratings
For each profile on a Disney+ account, parents can set content rating restrictions. So, if there is a young child and teen on the same account, their parent can set up different content ratings for them.
To edit a profile’s content ratings, select the profile and tap on Content Rating in the Parental Controls section. Then, set the rating accordingly. Note that you cannot set content rating restrictions on a Kid Profile.
Set Profile PINs
For each profile, Disney+ users have the option to create a four-digit PIN for each profile. This is a necessary step to prevent children from accessing their parent’s profile. To set a PIN, navigate to your profile’s edit screen. Then, tap on Profile PIN under the Parental Controls section. You will be prompted to verify your account.
Restrict Profile Creation
Prevent your child from creating a Disney+ profile with the Profile Creation Restriction feature. When enabled, a password is required to create a new profile. This setting is accessible in account settings.
Disney+ and Kids
Disney+ has provided the necessary features to restrict access to content and protect users. Whether you already have a Disney+ account or are going to get one, make sure to set-up these parental controls.
