What Is HBO Max?
The HBO Max app is the mobile app version of HBO. HBO owns the rights to some of the most successful shows of all time, including “The Sopranos” and “Game of Thrones”. The app features movies and shows, many of which are intended for mature audiences. They also create original content available on HBO Max only.
Parents who have HBO Max installed on their family’s devices will want to use the tools that HBO has included its app to help keep kids safe from watching mature content.
HBO Max Parental Controls
HBO’s streaming service does offer parental controls for parents who want to keep their kids safe on the family account. Setting up these features is easy, and can go a long way in helping to keep one’s child from watching inappropriate content.
To have content restrictions on the app, parents must first set-up an account for their child. Within the app click the Profile icon, select Switch Profiles → + Add Kid, and then create a pin code. Now enter the child’s information such as name and birthday and choose a color for the profile, and select Next. Then, the parent can choose the content ratings they will allow for movies and shows. Once complete, tap on Save.
Kid-Friendly Content on HBO Max
HBO Max does have shows for children that are family-friendly. Sesame Street, Peanuts, and the Looney Tunes cartoons are just a few examples. The Adventure Time series is another popular show on the streaming service that kids enjoy.
For older kids from the 9 to 15 age range, Craftopia, Teen Titans, and The Powerpuff Girls are good options.
